Aged for 24 months, including a vital period in oak casks, it offers elegance and complexity. ![](https://www.montaribaldi.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Vini-di-vigna-300x300.png) ![](https://www.montaribaldi.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/rio-sordo-325x750.png) #### VINEYARD CHARACTERISTICS **MGA:** Rio Sordo; **Grape Variety:** Nebbiolo; **Surface Area:** 0.6 ha; **Altitude:** 270-290 m a.s.l.; **Exposure:** South and West; **Geological Origin:** Sant’Agata Fossils Marls – sandy grey-blue marls with sandy-conglomerate interlayers; **Soil Type:** Typic Ustorthent, fine and calcareous; **Year of Planting:** 1966; --- ### VINIFICATION AND AGING Grapes are fermented in **thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks** for at least one week at **28-32 °C**. The wine is kept on its **fine lees (sur lies)** at 20-22 °C for at least two months to complete malolactic fermentation. The total aging process lasts approximately **24 months, a portion of which** is spent in **traditional oak casks (2,000-3,000 L)**.
